2017 Tax Season Info

Below are some items for clients to bear in mind for the 2017 filing season:
  • Unemployment- For any of our clients who received unemployment benefits in 2017, the State of NJ will no longer mail Form 1099G which lists the taxable amount of unemployment benefits received and any federal withholding tax. Clients must log onto (or click on this link) and enter their logon information used to access their unemployment account and click on the option to print Form 1099G.
  • Affordable Care Act - Federal law mandates health coverage for all Americans.  Taxpayers will be asked if they (and all of their dependents) were covered by a health plan in 2017.  Those covered under the Affordable Care Act will be asked to provide forms 1095A with their tax materials.  Clients that receive 1095B or 1095C are required to submit those forms with their tax materials.
  • E-Filing – We anticipate filing your 2017 returns using the e-file program for both your Federal and State return.
